Paris and back...

...just for a little timeout before winter and Christmas we went to Paris. It was beautiful fall weather with nice colors, sunshine and a little bit of rain.

We had a cool place to stay in the middle of the shopping centre Les Halles. You can find some cool crépe stands, cafes, restaurants, bakeries, shoe and clothing shops. If you go half mile there is another place with a lot of secondhand shops and places to be.

The best Pizza ever we have eaten in a tiny Italian restaurant in Rue Quincampoix 70, the staff was really friendly and the price was $$, kinda cheap!

For lunch you can have from one of the 1'000 crepestands a crepe filled with jambon and cheese or for the sweet thong with nutella, marmalade or apple sauce.

One day we went to the Marché aux puces, and it was really a fleamarket. Crazy stands with so much trash a lot of people with brand clothing and shoes and just some random sellers on the street wanna sell you just one Mobilephone uhmm...?? or a fake Rolex??

We let these stands behind and walked threw the antique markets. Puhhh they have some heavy prices but beautiful stuff. But I don't find anything good, I think I make better jobs here ;)

  

And here some tips for you if you wanna go to Paris and never been before. Take the metro or buses it's cheap and easy. You also can walk to a lot of attractions.

news from austria...

last few days I was in Innsbruck, Austria for my last snowboard competition in halfpipe. As every year the comp is pretty familiar and chill out, good vibes, good food, sound and people. It's the springsession  coming together for all the oldschool snowboardpros from Austria and the youngster aswell.

The pipe is not that big, usually I am into double the size of this pipe in my homeresort. But I like that kinda too. It's easy to ride and I love it when the walls are soft. But you can't give all your energy into it because the walls and the transition are not that long and it's to dangerous to go massive at all.

Like last year I took first place again and walked away with some nice goodies and some cash $$$ yeahhh.

During my free time in the afternoons I went to the city checking out the oldtown and all the shops. Innsbruck is a very nice architecture city and it has a lot of nice little coffee's, bars and restaurants. Every Saturday they have some fleamarkets round town running. You also can find a big farmersmarket which is open everyday except Sundays.

For my eastern decorations back home I found some nice things to buy. They got some good shops like Depot at the big Kaufhaus-Tyrol Mall or the Müller store at the Rathausgalerien. There you also can find the Butler's store with nice home accessories and furniture.

Have you ever been to London? If not you should definitely go there if you have the opportunity for. For me it’s pretty easy to go there. Flight takes about 1.5h airport to airport At the Gatwick Airport we always take the easybus which you must pre book online before the journey. It’s really cool, because it costs you only about 1-6£ per way depends when you are travel. You may have luck and get a ticket for just 1£! I always got a pretty cheap run with the bus ;) 

If you want you can also take the train but then you spend for sure more money but it's a bit faster as the bus. 

I think the best time to go to London is in May or October, it’s not to hot or cold and calmer then during the big holidays in summertime.

The ultimate insider tip is the Griffin House Hotel next to the famous

1.5mile end to end shopping mile in Europe, the Oxfordstreet. I've been in the Griffin House Hotel for the 3rd time now and it gets always better and nicer. The stuff is sooo friendly and breakfast is cute. They got free WLAN and 24h security door as well. The hotel has small rooms with shower and toilette in it but for us it’s okay because most time we are on the run to discover all the different places, shops, cafes and street markets the city have. The price per night is very good too! Book early so you will get cheaper rooms!

Oxfordstreet the shopping mile

So now to my more interesting blabla. For all the shopping girls and boys out there you must go thru all the shops on Oxfordstreet. Most shops open from Monday to Friday 9-10am until 6 or 8pm. Many also open on Sunday from 12 to 6pm with late nights on Thursday. Oxfordstreet is best known for the busiest shopping street in Europe. Most shops are all found in the section from Marble Arch to Oxford Circus, along with most of the big-name multinationals. It's more of the same towards Tottenham Court Road, but generally on a smaller scale.

They have such a wide product lane for young to old fashion. You can find so many trendy shops with clothes, shoes, accessories, bags, perfume, deco articles and so on. BUT don’t go there on weekends, it's pure death!! Weekdays it’s more calm because all the people are still in school or at work. And then you can shop with no stress until your $$$ is gone!

Portobello Road / Notting Hill

For all the vintage and antique fans, you definitely must go to the  Portobello Road Market. This is the reason why most people visit Notting Hill. Remember the movie? Clothes and food stalls are in the middle section of the market. Antiques and collectibles are at the southern end, nearest to Notting Hill Gate tube station. During the week the area is more peaceful. You can buy fresh veggis and fruits there, it's cheap!

Camden Town

Camden Market, Camden Lock Market, Camden Canal Market and Stables Market - all selling vintage clothing, street fashion, antiques and arts and crafts. Plenty of leather wear and body piercing too. Extremely busy at weekends. If you have the opportunity go there weekdays!

It's pretty touristic there, but you have to see it. Crazy shops, people etc.

And next to the bridge there is the best doughnut stall ever!!!!!

Soho and Chinatown

During the day Soho is more about coffee bars and cafes rather than the sex shops for which the area was once known.
The area near Leicester Square is London's Chinatown with some funny little chinese shops and there some chinese all you can eat
buffet for about 4£ cheapest to 8£ more expensive once.



Govent Garden and Seven Dials

In general, for best selection of shoe shops and independent fashion outlets, café and bars. Sweet little spot in the middle of London. Urban Outfitters, Dr. Martens and Oakley stores you canfind there.
