Every year London...

Have you ever been to London? If not you should definitely go there if you have the opportunity for. For me it’s pretty easy to go there. Flight takes about 1.5h airport to airport At the Gatwick Airport we always take the easybus which you must pre book online before the journey. It’s really cool, because it costs you only about 1-6£ per way depends when you are travel. You may have luck and get a ticket for just 1£! I always got a pretty cheap run with the bus ;)
If you want you can also take the train but then you spend for sure more money but it's a bit faster as the bus.
I think the best time to go to London is in May or October, it’s not to hot or cold and calmer then during the big holidays in summertime.

Gatwick Airport

Hello UK

The ultimate insider tip is the Griffin House Hotel next to the famous
1.5mile end to end shopping mile in Europe, the Oxfordstreet. I've been in the Griffin House Hotel for the 3rd time now and it gets always better and nicer. The stuff is sooo friendly and breakfast is cute. They got free WLAN and 24h security door as well. The hotel has small rooms with shower and toilette in it but for us it’s okay because most time we are on the run to discover all the different places, shops, cafes and street markets the city have. The price per night is very good too! Book early so you will get cheaper rooms!

Oxfordstreet the shopping mile

So now to my more interesting blabla. For all the shopping girls and boys out there you must go thru all the shops on Oxfordstreet. Most shops open from Monday to Friday 9-10am until 6 or 8pm. Many also open on Sunday from 12 to 6pm with late nights on Thursday. Oxfordstreet is best known for the busiest shopping street in Europe. Most shops are all found in the section from Marble Arch to Oxford Circus, along with most of the big-name multinationals. It's more of the same towards Tottenham Court Road, but generally on a smaller scale.
They have such a wide product lane for young to old fashion. You can find so many trendy shops with clothes, shoes, accessories, bags, perfume, deco articles and so on. BUT don’t go there on weekends, it's pure death!! Weekdays it’s more calm because all the people are still in school or at work. And then you can shop with no stress until your $$$ is gone!

Shop till you drop

Here is a little list with my favorite shops on the mile;
Bershka, Topshop, Primark, Next, River Island, Zara, New Look, Forever21 and so on...

Portobello Road / Notting Hill

For all the vintage and antique fans, you definitely must go to the  Portobello Road Market. This is the reason why most people visit Notting Hill. Remember the movie? Clothes and food stalls are in the middle section of the market. Antiques and collectibles are at the southern end, nearest to Notting Hill Gate tube station. During the week the area is more peaceful. You can buy fresh veggis and fruits there, it's cheap!
I had there the best strawberries ever.

Portobello Market at Notting Hill Gate

Camden Town

Camden Market, Camden Lock Market, Camden Canal Market and Stables Market - all selling vintage clothing, street fashion, antiques and arts and crafts. Plenty of leather wear and body piercing too. Extremely busy at weekends. If you have the opportunity go there weekdays!
It's pretty touristic there, but you have to see it. Crazy shops, people etc.
And next to the bridge there is the best doughnut stall ever!!!!!
One for 1£

   Doughnuts yummi

Soho and Chinatown

During the day Soho is more about coffee bars and cafes rather than the sex shops for which the area was once known.
The area near Leicester Square is London's Chinatown with some funny little chinese shops and there some chinese all you can eat
buffet for about 4£ cheapest to 8£ more expensive once.

Govent Garden and Seven Dials

In general, for best selection of shoe shops and independent fashion outlets, café and bars. Sweet little spot in the middle of London. Urban Outfitters, Dr. Martens and Oakley stores you canfind there.

On these two websites you can find so much information about London.
Shoppinglist, maps, tube and bus map with times schedule, tourist attraction, hotels and so on.

Dry fruits on the street markets

Bond Street

This street is the street for the most elegant and expensive shops in London. Designer clothing such as Gucci and Armani. So nothing for me. But maybe for you?

Famous double decker bus

Riverbridge

I try to go there once a year. It's so much fun and i think it's a pretty nice city with old buildings and big parks where you can hang out during the day if you have enough of shopping or sightseeing

So go there check it out and have fun!!

the candy cane marshmallow...

sitting at home, watching some TV trash and sipping on my white hot chocolate with a candy cane marshmallow on top. tried this sweet funny thing for christmas and got still one left. but by now its gone...yummmii.

To bad i couldn't find a little candy cane anywhere. They only got the large once.
So finally after searching for hours, i bought some plastic decoration candy canes for the christmas tree.
It's cool too, because i always can re use 'em.

the shabby kitchen buffet...

once i was walking through the basement from my bf's mother i found this old brown buffet with two sweet windows hiding in a back corner. This minute i saw this beauty in my dinner room armed with guest plates and glasses, bright white with a sideboard at the bottom.
That time during the past weeks i was thinking about a nice sideboard that matches with the the top buffet.
I asked her if i can have it for remodeling something nice? She said, sure, this was already in my mom's room xx years ago.
So i went to a local thriftstore searching for a sideboard which could go along with this sweet buffet. In the store it didn't take me 5 minutes until i found that perfect sideboard with tree little drawers and hearthandles.
It was only 30$ yeah. Bought it, drove home and went to the basement starting with my big project. It took me about a week with grinding, painting, waiting, glossing and decorating it.

There she is now in the dinner room. I am pretty proud about it.

Pomegranate; (Punica granatum)...

this is my second pomegranate in my life and i love it! It taste very sweet and bristling and cracking in my mouth. It's very rich in vitamin C, calcium, potassium and iron.

When you open the fruit by knife cut it in half and break it to open, separate the seed casings from the peel and internal white pulp membranes. I tell you, do it in a sink or a bowl with water, then the red juice is going everywhere!! I just put some on my white kitchen curtains..grrr.

I have read, if you freeze the entire fruit it makes it easier to separate the seeds. I just took them out with a spoon from the room temperature fruit. It takes me a long time, so don't try to eat the fruit when you are in a hurry, especially in the mornings. For that i cut mine tonight, refrigerate it over night and eat it tomorrow in my oatmeal with apple and skim milk.

*Good night everyone*

the wardrobe trunk...

SOLD

oh man I don't know how long I was searching for something like this antik old wardrobe trunk.
It's like 100 years old and it was travelling already thrue whole of europe. You can see the old stickers from different post offices and traintickets on the top and side of the trunk. Paris was one of it, pretty sweet. Wondering what it made there.

I found it last year on the online craigslist.
Remodel it for hours with paint and fabric. Now I was thinking, uhmm...don't need it really at my home and sold it for a very good deal within few days on one of my customers. Yeahh :) pretty stoked!!

Once in the evening I was going thru the online craigslist hours and hours and wuupp this ugly dirty shelf felt into my eyes. 7 days later after thinking a long time, what i could do with this old furniture I bought it for just 1$.

Now it's mine!

After 1 week scrapping, painting, thinking and waiting in the garage for the paint to dry, it turns out pretty nice, i think.
