Before and After Ikea kitchen island...

...was a birthday present for my mum's holiday house.

Before
After

It was standing for ages in my garage, alone and naked. Once my mum was here she asked my bf what I am gonna do with it?
If I am gonna throw it into the trash, we should tell her.

So he whispered into my ear that my mum wants it for her holiday house. So finally I found something that motivated me to remodel it into a nice white/brown kitchen island.

For the towels I installed three antic heels to the side.

Et voilà

Paris and back...

...just for a little timeout before winter and Christmas we went to Paris. It was beautiful fall weather with nice colors, sunshine and a little bit of rain.

We had a cool place to stay in the middle of the shopping centre Les Halles. You can find some cool crépe stands, cafes, restaurants, bakeries, shoe and clothing shops. If you go half mile there is another place with a lot of secondhand shops and places to be.

Rue Quincampoix 70

The best Pizza ever we have eaten in a tiny Italian restaurant in Rue Quincampoix 70, the staff was really friendly and the price was $$, kinda cheap!

Massive salad, we shared it together

For lunch you can have from one of the 1'000 crepestands a crepe filled with jambon and cheese or for the sweet thong with nutella, marmalade or apple sauce.
One day we went to the Marché aux puces, and it was really a fleamarket. Crazy stands with so much trash a lot of people with brand clothing and shoes and just some random sellers on the street wanna sell you just one Mobilephone uhmm...?? or a fake Rolex??
We let these stands behind and walked threw the antique markets. Puhhh they have some heavy prices but beautiful stuff. But I don't find anything good, I think I make better jobs here ;)

And here some tips for you if you wanna go to Paris and never been before. Take the metro or buses it's cheap and easy. You also can walk to a lot of attractions.

Before and after shabby chic dresser...

SOLD

...I found some time to do a really nice thing.
Before it was a really boring dark antique dresser from a grandma's home, now it looks like a modern shabby chic commode with a lot of drawers for stuff like video, DVD's, clothing or something else.

I think next time I will leave the drawers brown, looks kinda nice.
The shape I painted in a light gray, but here it looks like babyblue but it isn't!
The drawers are white.

Maki-Sushi (巻き寿司...

...actually I call it just sushi. I like doing them on my own, so I know what's in there, cheap and fresh handmade.
It's pretty easy, you just need good calm hands, a bamboo mat, rice, veggies, fish and norisheets.

For the filling I use avocado, carrot sticks, zucchini, peppers and canned tuna. I don't like the uncooked fish, even it's really healthy. One big rolls makes about 8 pieces.

Cook the rice until soft, after put some rice vinegar and sugar under it and let it cool down. It should be a little sticky!

Prepare some veggisticks and the tuna.

Put a foil on the bamboos mat and on top the norisheet.

Place the rice about 1cm high on the norisheet, place the sticks and tuna on it, not to much stuff!!, and roll it softly in. A little press and let it sit in the fridge for some hours.

After take it out and cut it with a sharp light wet knife into rolls.

Enjoy it with sojasauce and wasabicrème, it's
 also called Japanese horseradish.

*Good appetite*

From old to new pastel chairs...

...and now they are in my kitchen on the dinner table.

Two years ago my brother gave them to my parents. He found them on a housecleaning from an old lady who died. There they were standing in the basement for ages until my parents wanted to sell them on the Internet. First I thought okay, I will do this but then my idea was noway...I am gonna paint them in a nice pastel color for my new home.

We already had some other modern chairs which I don't really like and they don't fit into our new home. So my mum in law took them and I had some free space for some new antique chairs.
They are a little heavy but so strong that a 551 pound person could sit on them.

SOLD

Not the real one but nearly the same, forgot to take pictures before

Homemade Hummus dips...

...are the best!

Hummus is a Middle Eastern and Arabic food spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. You have so many different choices to creat a lovely dip. It's perfect for a party or apérosnack with veggisticks, bread or crackers. First time I heard about Hummus I thought it's something with Lobster and Fish in it because in German Lobster is Hummer and this sounds like Hummus when the Lobster is mashed :) that's why I never searched for this delicious recipe. And now I love it because I love chickpeas and co. so much. The seeds are high in protein, Vitamin B3 and E and low in calories.
